Prince of Persia Remake Delayed Yet Again
Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has had a pained turn of events. In the not-so distant past Ubisoft affirmed it was moving the game's improvement to a new studio, with Ubisoft Montreal taking control of the venture. A new issue appears to have sprung up since, in any case, with reports dropping on Friday that the Prince of Persia remake had been taken out from retailers' catalogs of impending releases. The reports were then affirmed, with Ubisoft affirming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time had been delayed endlessly.
The reports from Friday started with talk stating that GameStop had taken out listings for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time from its database of impending titles. The game was recently delayed to Ubisoft's Fiscal Year 2023 and remained in GameStop's database under that release window. The removal of the item indicated that Ubisoft had changed plans for the venture. The talk had yet to be affirmed, however, so it wasn't clear what the status of the game was.

IGN was able to reach out to Ubisoft and got an official statement on the matter. According to Ubisoft, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time's remake remains being developed at Ubisoft Montreal, as initially announced in early May. Instead of targeting a FY23 target, Ubisoft has chosen to delist the game altogether. Ubisoft asks pre-orderers to ask their retailers for a discount or otherwise wait for an official update on the game's improvement as it advances.
The bottom line is that Ubisoft can never again focus on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time's past release window and necessities time to evaluate what will happen next. That's both great and bad news. The uplifting news is Ubisoft is giving the venture the time it necessities to measure up to everybody's assumptions of quality. The bad news is that, in spite of years of improvement, it has far left to go.
Ubisoft has never depicted what issues Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time's remaster had while under work at Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai. Yet, the decision to move improvement to a new studio is never something done softly. As the new delay shows, it's successfully a task rebooted and fans probably will not hear about it for quite a while.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is, right now, actually being made. Ubisoft Montreal is a considerably more experienced improvement team than Ubisoft Puce and Ubisoft Mumbai, however it has had its own battles with For Honor and Hyper Scape. As fans know, Prince of Persia should be brought back deferentially at a degree of quality that does equity to the franchise's legacy. This decision will ideally enable that.
